HAPPY 40TH ANNIVERSARY TO THE DESERT QUILTERS OF NEVADA!
This year’s show theme is “Anniversary Celebrations”.
Desert Quilters of Nevada (DQN) is celebrating their 40th year of existence and we say HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Since the gemstone for a 40th anniversary is a ruby, we are delighted to be showcasing textile artist M J Kinman’s quilt “Elizabeth” for our show logo. As part of our 40th Anniversary, the quilt show will be featuring displays on a variety of quilting activities. Look for a “then and now” comparison as a LOT has changed over the 40 years since 1985. Look for a display of quilting and sewing activities supported by members of the guild which include a youth sewing group, Stockings for the Troops, Quilts of Valor and a multitude of charities supported with comfort quilts. Look for projects created based on quarterly classes presented by national and international speakers. Look for our newest award going to a “Rising Star” in quilting. And as always, look at all the wonderful quilts created by our members.
