We encourage one another to create and take risks.
We work hard to create a safe, friendly, and inspiring atmosphere.
Get to Know Us We were formed in June 2002. We became a circle within DQN in March 2003. We are a contemporary fiber arts group that includes art quilts, art dolls, wearable art, surface design and polymer clay. Some of our members expand their horizons further and also work in jewelry, wood, knitting, crocheting, etc. We meet monthly and have challenges and workshops that members take turns giving. Meetings also include a information/business portion, Jump Start (a creative exercise), Show and Tell, and then a demonstration or presentation. As with everything else we do in the group, participation in the challenges and workshops is voluntary. Show and tell is the highlight of our meetings. To showcase that fact it precedes the workshop during our monthly meeting. AQE meetings include an information/business portion, Jump Start (a creative exercise), Show and Tell, and then a demonstration or presentation.
Please bring a straight edge for the Jump Start. None of us has arrived as it were at the great Art Pinnacle. We encourage one another to create and take risks. We work hard to create a safe, friendly, and inspiring atmosphere. |

Some information about the museum Discover a multidisciplinary artist known for painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, porcelain enamel fired on steel, stained glass, and computer art. Abbey is known for her abstract expressionism, figure, landscape, and non-objective subject matter. "The infinite wonder of nature has had the greatest influence on my work. I have explored desert landscapes and have been deeply affected by rock formations, vistas, sunsets, plants and wildlife, rivers, and the colors and textures of secret canyons. These places communicate and resonate with my nature.” ~ Rita Deanin Abbey For additional information please visit Rita Deanin Abbey's website -ritadeaninabbeymuseum.org. It is truly an experience you will not want to miss. ~ Leslee Kolsoy, AQE member |
